Here is the DKP HOWTO I wrote for our raid leaders. I thought it might help people so I'm sharing it here.

The point of having separate OnTime bonus and Begin bonus is so people who are late but still actually go will get DKP. Or people that we swap in later can get the Begin bonus if it's fairly early in trash pulls yet.

DKP HOWTO

Everyone that is in the raid at the start time (and this is the exact time the raid is listed to start) gets the on time bonus. If a person is sat, they still get that bonus. This will be our sit DKP and it will be small. If someone is in the raid that should not get this, you must remove them from the raid before you run the snapshot command.

On-time snapshots will be named "<Instance> OnTime", beginning snapshot will be named "<Instance> Begin" and ending snapshot will be named "<Instance> End". We can probably just use some common nicknames for the instances. For example:

Gruul OnTime / Gruul Begin / Gruul End
The Eye OnTime / The Eye Begin / The Eye End
Mag OnTime / Mag Begin / Mag End
SSC OnTime / SSC Begin / SSC End

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SNAPSHOTS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First, clear any pre-existing snapshot:

/gt snapshot clear

Record on time bonus:

/gt snapshot Gruul OnTime 50

Then when everyone zones in and you're ready to do first pull, record begin bonus:

/gt snapshot Gruul Begin 10

Do a snapshot immediate after a boss kill:

/gt snapshot High King Maulgar 30

Use full boss name exactly as it appears on target (sadly %t doesn't work).

You can view your snapshots with this command:

/gt snapshot list

The output looks like this:

Code:
1. High King Maulgar - 10/17/07 21:14:00
2. Gruul Begin - 10/17/07 19:13:39
3. Gruul OnTime - 10/17/07 19:00:00

Do our standard open bidding. Person picks up item. Item is automatically added to the event with that person's name. After three pickups, snapshot list now looks like this:

Code:
1. High King Maulgar - 10/17/07 21:14:00
   1. Amity - [Pauldrons of the Fallen Champion] - -
   2. Krellmax - [Pauldrons of the Fallen Hero] - -
   3. Captobvious - [Belt of Divine Inspiration] - -
2. Gruul Begin - 10/17/07 19:13:39
3. Gruul OnTime - 10/17/07 19:00:00

Manually assign DKP to each item, starting with the first:

/gt snapshot note 1 1 420

This assigns 420 DKP to Event 1, Item 1. Snapshot list now looks like this:

Code:
1. High King Maulgar - 10/17/07 21:14:00
   1. Amity - [Pauldrons of the Fallen Champion] - 420 DKP
   2. Krellmax - [Pauldrons of the Fallen Hero] - -
   3. Captobvious - [Belt of Divine Inspiration] - -
2. Gruul Begin - 10/17/07 19:13:39
3. Gruul OnTime - 10/17/07 19:00:00

Then assign DKP for remaining items:

/gt snapshot note 1 2 440
/gt snapshot note 1 3 200

Snapshot list now looks like this:

Code:
1. High King Maulgar - 10/17/07 21:14:00
   1. Amity - [Pauldrons of the Fallen Champion] - 420 DKP
   2. Krellmax - [Pauldrons of the Fallen Hero] - 440 DKP
   3. Captobvious - [Belt of Divine Inspiration] - 200 DKP
2. Gruul Begin - 10/17/07 19:13:39
3. Gruul OnTime - 10/17/07 19:00:00

Repeat snapshots for each boss with item DKP for each boss. Do a snapshot at end of the raid:

/gt snapshot Gruul End 20

With just one boss down, final snapshot list looks like this:

Code:
1. Gruul End
2. High King Maulgar - 10/17/07 21:14:00
   1. Amity - [Pauldrons of the Fallen Champion] - 420 DKP
   2. Krellmax - [Pauldrons of the Fallen Hero] - 440 DKP
   3. Captobvious - [Belt of Divine Inspiration] - 200 DKP
3. Gruul Begin - 10/17/07 19:13:39
4. Gruul OnTime - 10/17/07 19:00:00

Notice that the last event added gets inserted as event 1 and other events get shifted down. I think this is to make it easy to create the DKP notes, as it'll always be items under Event 1 that you'll add DKP for.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPLOAD SNAPSHOTS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First you MUST exit WoW. IMPORTANT!!!

Log into your website. On the Admin Console on the right, under Raids section, choose Upload Snapshots.

Upload the data file to the website:

C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<acctname>\SavedVariables\GuildomaticDKP.lua

You will have to double-check to make sure the events show up correctly and that you don't have any event types of "Unknown". If you do, click on the drop-down and choose the correct event or uncheck Save if it looks like a mistake.

Image

Once everything looks correct, click Save and you're done!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IN-GAME DKP LOOKUPS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh and before you login on a day that you plan to start a raid, you grab the current DKP file:

http://yourguild.guildomatic.com/dkp/Gu ... static.lua

MAKE SURE YOU REPLACE yourguild.guildomatic.com in the above link with your own guild subdomain or custom domain or you will not be downloading the DKP data for your own guild site.

And dump it into the mod's folder:

C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\GuildomaticDKP

If you get an error when trying to grab this file with Internet Explorer, try using Firefox instead. For me, IE fails but Firefox works fine.

This will provide in-game DKP lookups. You can look up DKP using:

/gt dkp <player>
/gt dkp <class>
/gt dkp all

And you can let people query you if you enable it:

/gt dkp on

People whisper you "dkp <player>". For example: "dkp krellmax". And they will get a response with that person's DKP. You can also do this per class, "dkp hunter", and all, "dkp all".

BUG: There is a bug where you will reply X number of times in response to a single query, once per chat tab that has whispers enabled. They are aware of it and hopefully they'll fix it soon.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT IF I CAN'T GET THE MOD TO WORK?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you do if you have a problem with the mod? Well, you better get an in-game screenshot showing who all was there for each event and/or write it down. I always take screenshots as a backup anyway. Also, you should definitely write down the winning DKP bids as a backup to the mod because if WoW crashes, you'll lose it all. This is also why you should have more than one person tracking DKP with the mod.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ONE ATTENDANCE SNAPSHOT PER RAID, SEPARATE DKP TIERS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What we do in our guild is create an OnTime and Begin snapshot at the start of a raid. We use the OnTime to reward those who are there at the official raid start time with bonus DKP (50). We use the Begin snapshot to give a smaller reward (10) to those who are there when we start pulling AND we have that as part of a "Begin" attendance group. Anybody on standby will be manually added to the Begin snapshot when it is uploaded. This way they get a small amount of DKP for showing up and staying on standby and also get attendance credit.

Since the Begin snapshot is the only snapshot that is part of the "Begin" attendance group, we can use that "Begin" attendance group to keep track of the number of raids each person attended. We also create a snapshot for every boss but we don't want attendance to be skewed by the number of bosses for a given night so those snapshots are not part of any attendance group. This has worked out really well for us. You can even separate attendance for different content tiers this way if that is what you want (e.g., you can have "T8 Begin" and "T9 Begin" snapshots that belong to "T8" and "T9" attendance groups, respectively).

We actually keep attendance shared between T8 and T9 content but keep DKP separate. We do this by having "T8 Begin" and "T9 Begin" both belong to the same "Begin" attendance group but belong to different "T8" and "T9" DKP groups. Feel free to look at our website (http://www.wowvex.net) to see how it is implemented. Notice that I have different links on our menu for the different DKP tiers. That is there for convenience. Otherwise you have to use the DKP Group dropdown on the DKP page.

This is totally great. Thank you so much for posting this, we know we need to improve our dkp documentation.

We will carry this into our dkp documentation update and credit you as appropriate.

thnx for explanation clearly :) snapshot for dummies guide :D

Anyway. but still have some problem. All event makes its own topic in raid page.(I still chose my own event) I want to say if I get these 3 snapshot a member is been recorded three time by the system.

Also it doesn't add the boss kill to the boss progres...

I just want to putt all snapshot in a one raid link at the raid page. Can I make it easily?

That's the way it's designed to work. I think they have something on the to-do list to make it work differently. But at this point each snapshot is it's own event.

It works fine for us as is by the way. I don't see any reason to have snapshots aggregated into raids. The way is now I can see where we went, who was there at each stage, who got what, and how dkp was earned/spent. In short, the data is all there with a minimal need for me to fuss with it.

I'd like more support for zero sum and dkp decay, but I'd say it's pretty solid as is.

When I was actually still raiding I used the DKP system Guildomatic provided extensively (nearly every day of the week infact xD) and it's amazing for the money. The thing about different snapshots is they do make raid attendance slightly different (when you give on time bonuses as seperate snapshot's etc.) it can really mess it up (from my experience anyway). So it may actually be worth having Raid Sets i.e.

/snapshot *Raid Command* *Raid Name i.e. TK, Gruul etc.*

which creates a Raid

/snapshot *Boss, Ontime or w/e* *DKP Value*

/snapshot list =
Code:
1. Gruul's Lair
   1. High King Maulgar 20 DKP
      1. Loot
      2. Loot
   2. Gruul 50 DKP
      1. Loot
      2. Loot
      3. Loot

(Had to use code because it messed up my layout and made it unclear)

That way people present in the raid in general would be counted towards recieving attendance :P and someone being 5minutes late because of traffic wouldn't lose their 100% attendance rating because of it.
Not sure how viable it is to the addon but it's easily done on the website :D

Great post! All works flawlessly, except for the dkp assignment. I can add a note for the dkp, and snapshot list shows it correctly. However when I upload to the site, the value shown in the form shows 0 dkp for everything. Am I doing something wrong?

Looking in the lua, the value is definitely recorded:

{
["item"] = "|cffa335ee|Hitem:30236:0:0:0:0:0:0:1082508526|h[Chestguard of the Vanquished Champion]|h|r",
["player"] = "Dalugg",
["time"] = "11/30/07 21:32:06",
["note"] = "122",
}, -- [83]

Yet when uploading it shows 0 dkp instead of 122.

Ack, we tested this but perhaps there is still a bug of some sort. We will be able to fix it quickly if so. Please send us your GuildomaticDKP.lua file to support@guildomatic.com so that we can try it ourselves and debug. Thanks.

I did a DKP update on Friday and it showed the DKP awarded using "/snapshote note". Thanks for fixing it.

I ran into a problem and was not sure if anyone else has has this issue.

We have 3 Karazhan teams and each has separate DKP. We also have our 25 man group and the dkp is separate there as well.

I have set up raid events for each group so capturing the dkp separate is not a problem. The issue I am having is when I download the "Guildomatic_static.lua
" and put it into mod folder it works fine but it shows total dkp for a person. This is combining their 10 man dkp and their 25 man dkp.

Is there a way to separate the dkp on the static file so people only get the dkp for the team they are on at the time.

Perhaps something like this when they whisper...

/dkp (player name) (Team name)

This would allow them to know what they have to spend for that group.

Thanks,

Not at this time, but we have an open feature request to allow querying dkp in-game by dkp group which I believe would address your need here.

I will note you are seeking this re: driving its priority.

Yes if they could look up dkp by group that would fix the problem. You guys rock!

one problem i'm seeing is when i upload the file, it reads unknown for most things.
for example i say /snapshot void reaver 5
then upload the file
but it says unknown, if i click on the drop down menu i dont see void reaver...
how do i add other bnames to that drop down event list?

yesterday we killed high astromancer solarian, but the event says unknown and i can not pick soliarian from the drop down since its not there???
how to fix this and yes i did place the static.lua file in the /addons/guildomatic folder

i also notice when using /dkp it lists ppl not in my raid, and i did upload a curent /roster
